Now in its 20th year, the Wellington High School Band program has consistently earned Superior ratings at Florida Bandmasters Association district assessments in the areas of marching, concert, solo, ensemble, jazz, and auxiliary performance. The band program has also earned several Gold ratings and Sweepstakes Awards in national competitions held in Nashville, Atlanta, Toronto, Orlando, New York City, and Chicago.
The “Mighty Wolverine Sound” Marching Band’s Majorette Squad won the United States Twirling Association National Championship in 2001, the Disney Twirl Mania “Team of the Year” award in 2004, was named Disney Twirl Mania “Corps of the Year” in 2006, and most recently, won the Drum Majorettes of America High School National Championship for 2007.
The “Mighty Wolverine Sound” Marching Band was invited to represent the state of Florida at the dedication of the National World War II Memorial Monument in Washington, D.C. on Memorial Day 2004.
